Midsummer Open I - 13/07/2016

CLC Striders got the midsummer open series off to an excellent start with an excellent turnout and some excellent performances across a range of distances.

In the 5000m A race it was a close call between Sam Baylis and Iain Porter with Porter edging the contest in 16:33.25 and Baylis finishing closely behind in 16:34.57.

The B race saw an excellent sub-18 time from Will Pearce (17:47.64) and a strong debut from newcomer Al Newton (18:11.96).

Rachel Vines and Andrew Paterson posted strong sub-20 minute times, and there were also strong runs for Amelia Mullins, Gavin Jerman and Dan Farrelly.

Meanwhile, Will Ferguson and James Oram opted to run the 800, and both ran well in the A race.  Ferguson ran 2:05.64 whilst Oram ran 2:10.91.

In the B race Striders were well represented by Joel Freeland and Paul Lockyer who ran 2:17.49 and 2:25.29 respectively.

Special mention should be made of Emma Abbey who ran well to post a time of 3:05.95 in the 800m and followed that with an excellent. 59.55 in the 300m.
