Cranham Boundary Chase - Saturday 5 September 2026

« back   approx 1 min read.

Sun-drenched roads, brutal hills, and a classic village fete - what a way to spend a Saturday!

Seven brave Striders headed up to Cranham to tackle the annual Boundary Chase, a 5.6-mile road race famous for its ‘tasty’ undulating start and punishing hill finish. With points up for grabs in both our Club Road Race Series and the Gloucestershire AAA Series, the squad certainly didn’t hold back.

Gavin Woods led the charge for the club, tearing up the course to take 5th place overall in a rapid 34:07. Hot on his heels was Tom Burgess, crossing the line in 34:24 for an impressive 8th place finish. Jim Modridge (36:51) and Tim Elliott (39:40) rounded out the top 20.

Ellie Pudifoot put on a absolute masterclass, conquering the climbs to finish as 2nd lady overall (21st overall) in 40:08. Hollie Freeland powered home shortly after in 47:37 achieving 2nd FV40, followed by a solid run from David James to close out the team in 49:22 and 1st V75

Huge thanks to Severn AC for putting on such a fantastic, friendly event. With a local dog show, a game of cricket, and a bouncy castle framing the finish line, you couldn’t ask for a better afternoon of local racing.
