National Womens 6-Stage Road Relays - Sutton Park 14th April 2012
Fantastic 21st place for Striders’women in National 6-Stage Road Relays!
CLC Striders Ladies 6 stage Road team acquitted themselves superbly well to finish 21st in the National Championships held at Sutton Park, Birmingham. The Striders ladies who were also Gloucestershire’s leading club, finished 7th Midlands team in these top class championships.The course is undulating and is run over 3 miles.
The Striders were led off by Laura Kent who recorded 18.52 to finish 38th, Kent handed over to Sian Holley who gained 7 places and ran 19.56, Holley handed to Emma Skeen who made up 3 places to put the club into the top 30, and record 19.26, Club captain Rachel Vines was next to run for the club, Vines kept the boat steady to come home in 28th place and run 20.08, Pat Woods took over from Vines and gained 2 places to put the Striders ladies in 26th place, Woods ran 20.01 for her leg. Hilary Agate took over the final leg and gained 5 more places to bring the team home in 21st place. Agate recorded a very fast 18.23 for her leg.
